Who Is Jesus?

If you're like many people today, you've heard about Jesus. You may think of

Him as a religious leader or perhaps as a really good man who lived

2,000 years ago, but have you ever wondered if He could possibly make a

difference in your life today?

All of humanity has sinned and is need of a life changing experience with Jesus.

Over 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ came to earth and He lived a perfect life.

Jesus lived a life that you and I could never live, in that He never sinned.

Jesus died the death that you and I deserve by willingly giving His life upon the cross for all of humanity.

The Bible tells us in Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” This indeed is the greatest news ever told! Jesus loves you and I so much that He was willing to sacrifice His own life, so that you and I can be saved.

Three days after Jesus died upon the cross, He rose again from the grave, just as He said He would. Jesus is alive today and the Bible tells us that He is seated upon the right-hand side of the throne of God. What does this mean for you? It means that you can be saved today by giving your life completely to Jesus.

The Plan of Salvation

First, you must acknowledge that you are a sinner. The Bible tells us: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23). We have all fallen short of God’s glory, and we have all sinned. Romans 6:23 tells us that the wages of sin is death, that means the payment for our sin is death and someone has to die for it. You must repent of your sins; this means that you are willing to change your way of living and live a holy life before God. This does not mean that you will not sin again, but it does mean that you will strive to live right, with God’s help.

Second, you must believe in your heart that Jesus died upon the cross for you, that He rose again three days later, and that He is the LORD.

Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Lastly, by faith you must simply receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.

Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Are You Ready To Receive Jesus?

If you are ready to put your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, then you can pray right now, right where you are. Simply follow the biblical steps we shared with you above. Pray how God directs your heart. You can pray a prayer like this:

"Lord  Jesus, I want to know You personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life in heaven with You. Take control of my life and make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen."

If you sincerely repented of your sins, and placed your faith in Jesus Christ to save you, then the Bible says you are now a Christian. Old things are now gone, new things have now come, and the Spirit of God now dwells in your life. Now that you have given your life to Christ, the Bible says that there is rejoicing in Heaven over your decision and we are rejoicing with you too!

Now What?

Christians in a church will walk with you as you explore this new life in Christ. If you would like a list of churches near your home, please contact us on our website and we will be glad to send you a list.

Get baptized. Baptism is a public act of identifying yourself as a Christian.

Begin reading the Bible. Start sitting aside time each day to read the Bible. Pray before you start and ask God to speak to you through His Word. Just as food satisfies your body, the Bible will satisfy your soul on a daily basis.

Don't start by trying to read the Bible from beginning to end. Start with the Gospel of John, through this book in your Bible, you will learn more about who Jesus is and what He has done for us.

Pray. Prayer is talking with God; He loves you and wants you to know Him better. Some have said prayer seems awkward at first, but just as with any relationship, talking with God takes time to feel natural. Use that time to tell God about your day, tell Him about your troubles. or ask Him your questions. Pray for His direction or just tell Him how much you appreciate what He has done for you already. Having a daily prayer time will help grow you as a Christian.
